Fixed income
Our approach to investing in fixed income is based on the basic principle that fundamental research will lead to sustainable long-term performance in the interest markets.
The substantial globalisation of the world has had a significant effect on the way interest rate markets function. In our view the interrelation of world economies dictates an approach to fixed income investing that is focused on analysing and understanding the macro development of the world’s largest economies, capital flows and the interest rate policies of the world’s leading central banks.
Structural trends such as Asset Liability Management of pension funds combined with easy monetary policies and massive fiscal deficits will continue to be of great importance when analysing the bond markets the years to come.
We believe active management on a long term basis of portfolio duration, yield curve positioning and sector allocation together with security selection based on relative value analysis will achieve the goal of value creation in the interest rate markets.
